I firmly believe that some people are mysteriously placed on this earth for a greater purpose. These people live their lives in a very special way, and teach us very special things if we only open our hearts to listen. Meet Randy Pausch - a professor of computer science, human-computer interaction and design at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. In September of 2006 he learned that he had pancreatic cancer, a terminal illness. Soon after, on September 18, 2007, he gave an upbeat lecture entitled "The Last Lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams at Carnegie Mellon. This is a man who had a very special message. He became a YouTube sensation that led to other media appearances, including the Oprah Winfrey show where he gave a condensed version of his lecture. He also wrote a book.
His message is powerful - definitely worth viewing the 10 minute video clip...This is something to rock your world!
Randy Rausch died on July 25, 2008. What an amazing man with a truly enduring message!
